Sandbach Partnership, who are leading the initiative to establish Sandbach as a Dementia Friendly community, are to run monthly Dementia Friends Information Sessions to raise awareness about dementia around Sandbach. Three local residents, Dot Flint, Sandbach Partnership Chair, and local Rotarians Jane Spencer and Dave Whitworth were recently trained in Crewe as Dementia Friends Champions to run these sessions, together with local resident Helen Williams, who as a Champion has already created over 300 Dementia Friends. Sandbach Partnership are running dementia friend’s information sessions during Dementia Action Week (between 21st and 27th May) as part of their initiative to establish Sandbach as a dementia friendly community. Three local residents, Dot Flint, Sandbach Partnership Chair, and local Rotarian Jane Spencer and Dave Whitworth were recently trained in Crewe as Dementia Friends Champions to run these and future information sessions in Sandbach. Sandbach Partnership have played a key role in supporting Grass Roots Disability Sandbach as they complete another phase of the ‘Drop Kerb’ project in Sandbach town centre. Grass Roots Disability Sandbach continues to progress since being set up in September 2015.
