Big Help out Sandbach: Pick, Plant, Paint

//Big Help out Sandbach: Pick, Plant, Paint

To mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation thousands of organisations across the country got together to give us all the chance to help out in our own local communities.

We co-ordinated a 3 hour Big Help Out volunteering event for all local residents. Despite the rainy bank holiday weather, over 60 people turned out to voluntarily improve our town.

The OPPORTUNITY:

  • spring planting and spruce up of the local train station
  • pick weeds and/or litter at the Scotch Common area in the town centre
  • paint the litter bins and cauldrons in the town centre (deferred due to conditions)
  • be part of the mini-sweep team on the cobbles (deferred due to conditions) OR
  • litter pick in your local neighbourhood and share your pictures

The volunteers were rewarded with a hot drink and refreshments at St Mary’s Church hall.

We would like to thank all who took the time to get involved. A little from many makes a world of difference!
